COSRX has been a top Korean beauty brand over the last few years, mostly popular for their Mucin Essence and All-in-one cream.
However, their Hyaluronic Acid cream is also a popular cream during the winter.
It’s a night cream known for its long-lasting moisturizing capability. That’s what we’re going to cover today.
The COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream is a water-based hydrating cream/moisturizer that moisturizes your skin and protects it from losing hydration.
The cream doesn’t feel oily. Neither is it heavy, giving you soft skin with long-lasting moisture.

Is COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream Good?
“It’s too thick.” — that’s the initial reaction of many when trying the cream for the first time.
But the very next impression can be somewhere between “Love it!” or “It’s alright” depending on how you like the thickness of it.
With winter on its way, the demand for hyaluronic acid moisturizer is surging. And with COSRX hitting it big in the market, let’s weigh the pros and cons of the product.
Benefits
Hyaluronic acid creams are known for being highly beneficial for helping the skin stretch and flex and reduce skin wrinkles and lines.
Is this cream any different?
Well, over a few weeks of usage, here are the benefits you can get from using COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream:
- It makes the skin super plump in the morning after using it at night.
- It moisturizes the skin and keeps the skin hydrated for a long time.
- Unlike most hyaluronic acid creams, this cream is well-suitable for dry skin.
- Works as a good barrier seal for toners/serums/ampoules.
- Reduces wrinkles and smoothens the skin.
- Increases collagen production.
So far, the reviews for the cream have been positive from those with dry to combo skin.
The Downsides
While COSRX claims the hyaluronic acid-intensive cream to be non-comedogenic, some users with oily skins say otherwise.
One of the side effects of using the cream is the possible formation of comedones on oily skin.
The hyaluronic acid-intensive cream ends up clogging the pore due to the presence of Dimethiconol, a silicone-based ingredient.
This can result in visible cystic pimples on your skin. For that, the snail 92 all-in-one cream is a better alternative for oily skin.
For that reason, I’d suggest going through the routine of applying cleaner, toner, essence, serum, and lotion before trying the moisturizer.
As for the thickness of the cream, you might experience slight discomfort and might end up with a waxy pillow!
Key Ingredients
According to COSRX, the key ingredients in Hyaluronic Acid intensive cream are:
- 57.8% Hippophae Rhamnoides Water:
- 3000ppm Sodium Hyaluronate(hyaluronic acid)
Other Ingredients include:
Hippophae Rhamnoides Water, Ethyl Hexanediol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Betaine, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Arginine, Panthenol, Dimethicone, Ethylhexylglycerin, Carbomer, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum
The Hippophae Rhamnoides Water (57.8%) is a nourishing ingredient from sea buckthorn that provides hydration, nutrients, and antioxidants to revitalize skin and boost elasticity.
Sodium Hyaluronate(hyaluronic acid) is essential for retaining moisture, which helps plump the skin, smooth fine lines, and enhance overall firmness.
Other hydrating agents, such as Glycerin and Butylene Glycol, help draw moisture into the skin, while Sunflower Seed Oil and Macadamia Seed Oil provide essential fatty acids to soften and strengthen the skin barrier.
This blend of ingredients works together to deeply hydrate, protect, and smooth, promoting a radiant, resilient complexion with daily use.

How to Use
Before applying the hyaluronic cream to your face, make sure to go through your cleanser, toner, and essence/serum before using the cream/moisturizer.
The cream can be too thick. So take a little amount of cream in your hands and gently apply the cream on your skin.
Lightly tap to spread the cream to make sure it reaches all the corners of your skin.
It’s best to apply it before going to bed and wash it up using a cleanser in the morning.
But you can also use it in the morning if you wish.
Is COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream Good for All Skin Types?
The night cream is best suitable for dry, dehydrated, and combination skin types.
If you live in a country with dry weather, this cream is a holy grail of moisturizers.
It has soothing ingredients and macadamia oil which is good for barrier repair.
The dimethicone helps to protect the hydrating layers underneath, keeping your skin moist for a long time.
However, I’d suggest avoiding COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream for oily, acne-riddled skin as it’ll give you a lot of closed comedones.
The cream is not ideal for oily skin that acne-prone.
But using it on dry, acne-prone skin gives better results.
Although COSRX claims that their hyaluronic acid intensive cream is good for sensitive skin, some might feel the cream is a bit tacky-feeling on the skin.
There’s also the chance of having cystic pimples and closed comedones due to the presence of dimethicone in the cream.
Is It Pregnancy Safe?
The COSRX Hyaluronic Acid Intensive Cream makes it in the list of pregnancy and nursing safe COSRX products of 15-minute beauty.com.
Ingredients used in the formation of the cream are harmless and possess no threat to either the mother or the baby.
